Canoeing is available within an hour from Sentout, with 1 to 4 hr circuits on the Leyre and the Ciron rivers.
There are many beautiful and historically important Chateaux in our region. Visit La Brede (Montesquieu), Montaigne, Cazeneuve, Cadillac, Villandraut, chateau Roquetaillade (left picture), chateau de Malle.
Allow a full day to explore world famous Saint Emilion with its troglodyte church, romantic alleys and renowned wine chateaux. There are many fine restaurants to choose from for lunch or dinner and many shops to visit.
Many small towns in the Entre-eux-Mers are interesting places to visit. Don’t miss Creon, Cadillac, Sauveterre, Monsegur and Pellegrue, small fortified Villages named “Bastides” which were built in the 13thC and during the 100 years war between France and England.
In St Andre du Bois, amongst the vines is Chateau de Malrome, the former property of the famous Toulouse Lautrec painter family.
In Bazas – a 13thC Cathedral and another square with typical arched arcades called “Couverts”. Facing the Cathedral – a pleasant restaurant called “Chez Jean” is where you can enjoy lunch in the sun or under the arches at a reasonable price.
